So now I need to install the firmware on arduino 2560 with ramps 1.4 ontop of it I have it plugged in via USB and this is what I’m seeing and in the make menuconfig I selected arduino 2560 and saved it. Thank you John! I did not know that I needed to add a jumper to get access to my power supply on the servos. There are 4 servo ports on the board associated with pins 11,6,5, and 4 (I believe). Currently I am trying to run the sweep example code. ![]() I am perplexed trying to program a servo to run on the board. The only real difference between the two are the MOSFETs and the fuses. The layout of the RAMPS 1.5 is virtually identical to that of the RAMPS 1.4. So, I jumpered the indicated pins and had the full power of my ATX supply which I have hacked into a very nice benchtop power supply. I recently purchased a mega 2560 with RAMPS 1.4 to tinker with. Hi, I just finished building my 3d printer using the arduino mega 2560 board with a ramps 1.4 board. The RAMPS 1.5 is a variation of the popular RAMPS boards that, like all other RAMPS boards, is plugged into an Arduino Mega for operation. You can also leave this pin not connected if you have no plan to add extra servos. I have it plugged in via USB and this is what I’m seeing and in the make. Since there is not a lot of extra power from the Arduino's power supply you can connect it directly to your 5V power supply if you have one. Installed Kiauh to then install klipper, moonraker, mainsail, and fluidd. It is designed so that you can jumper it to the VCC pin and use the Arduino's power supply to supply 5V for extra servos if you are only powered from USB or 5V. After pluging in the USB cable of the Ramps to the computer a new COM port will appear. The last thing you have to configure is the Port. The modular design includes plug in stepper drivers and extruder control electronics on an Arduino MEGA shield for easy service, part replacement, upgrade. Then the right processor ATmega2560 (Mega 2560). The 5V pin in that connector on RAMPS only supplies the 5V to the auxiliary servo connectors. First chose the right Board by clicking on Tools Board Arduino/Genuino Mega or Mega 2560. ![]() I went looking in the docs and found this. I didn't know that the power for the servos required a jumper! John rightly saw that I had a current problem.
